Anomalous chiral symmetry breaking above the QCD phase transition
Abstract
This comment reports an extension of the Columbia group's earlier calculation, presented at Lattice '96[1], of a difference of susceptibilities which measures the strength of the axial anomaly for T > T c. Those results were obtained on a 16 3 × 4 lattice at β = 5.3, slightly above the QCD phase transition, for dynamical quark masses in lattice units of 0.01, 0.015, 0.02 and 0.025. Here we present the result from the same size lattice at a fifth and lighter quark mass of ma = 0.005. At this smaller mass value the parameter ω, measuring anomalous chiral symmetry breaking, has fallen by nearly a factor of two from its value at ma = 0.01 and continues to show behavior that is reasonably consistent with linear in m.
