Geometry Writ Large: From the Solar System to the Edge of the Universe
Abstract
I will discuss measurements spanning distance scales from the size of the solar system to the size of the universe. The particular focus will be on testing general relativity and, especially, using it as a tool to study the geometric properties of the universe. The emphasis in the latter will be on the use of gravitational lenses to determine the Hubble constant.
