The AGONet project and the ADAF data centre.
Abstract
The Arctic and Antarctic regions are preferred sites for ground based observations of solar wind - magnetosphere interaction phenomena. The AGONet (Antarctic Geospace Observatory Network) is an international project with the aim of coordinating the observations of the geospace parameters from Antarctica. Such observations are performed through the complement of several instruments: magnetometers, riometers, VLF-ELF receivers and optical instruments for the observation of the auroral structures. All the data coming from the AGONet network are collected at the Istituto di Fisica dello Spazio Interplanetario - CNR (Frascati), where a data centre for data archiving and analysis has been created: the ADAF (AGONet Data Analysis Facility). The ADAF system can be accessed through World Wide Web at the URL: "http://sunserv.ifsi.fra.cnr.it/≡adaf/adaf.html".
