Total hadronic photoabsorption on carbon and lead in the shadowing threshold region
Abstract
The total photoabsorption cross section for carbon and lead has been measured in the energy range 0.5 ÷ 2.6 GeV at Bonn using the SAPHIR tagged photon beam. Nuclear data show a significant reduction of the absorption strength with respect to the free nucleon case suggesting a shadowing effect at low energies.
