Models of Molecular Cooperativity in Liquids near the Glass Transition
Abstract
The arguments for cooperative molecular behaviour in supercooled liquids near the glass transition are presented, together with salient features of two lattice-gas models with strong cooperativity. The possible measurement of a characteristic length of cooperativity in computer and laboratory experiments is discussed. A criterion for the choice of liquids for laboratory experiments is proposed.
