Meson Production in proton antiproton annihilations in flight
Abstract
Two new states f x(2135) and a 2(1650) decaying to ηη and π 0η, respectively, have been observed in the p¯p→π 0ηη annihilation channel at a p¯-beam momentum of 1940 MeV/c. A variety of mesonic final states is prepared for further analysis from a new data set taken in Sep./Oct. 95. Here the final states π +π -π 0, π +π -η, K +K -π 0, K +K -η, f 1π +π - and f 1π 0π 0 are presented. The latter were extracted from a π +π -π 0η and a 4π 0η data sample. The f 1ππ final states have particular relevance for the search of hybrid mesons as predicted by theorists.
