Systematic corrections in the extraction of the πNN coupling from p¯p → n¯n differential cross sections

We show that the πNN coupling constant determined model-independently from pp charge exchange is subject to a systematic shift, and, more significantly that the strong absorption in the critical region prevents a determination of the coupling constant to high precision using this reaction. This removes partly the discrepancy with the value extracted from the np charge exchange cross sections.
