Displacement measurement in VIRGO Super Attenuators with a suspended Fabry-Perot interferometer
Abstract
The use of a two mirrors Fabry-Pexot suspended cavity as a high sensitivity displacement detector is considered. It can be used to test the remnant noises in VIRGO Super Attenuators. The displacement sensitivity of the apparatus should be increased up to the mirrors thermal noise limit.
