Simulation of the electromagnetic properties of a Pestov spark counter
Abstract
Both the electrostatic and the electromagnetic properties of the proposed Pestov Spark counter for the CERN-LHC experiment ALICE were calculated employing the HF simulation package MAFIA. The simulations helped to design a frontend readout board of high bandwidth for the transmission of a very fast signal induced by the spark to the frontend electronics.
