Radio emission fluctuations of Jupiter at λ3.6 cm produced by the impact of the fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9.
Abstract
Results are presented of Jupiter's radio emission measurements at λ3.6 cm during the impact of fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9. The flux density and fluctuations of Jupiter's radio emission increased during transit across the Jupiter disk of impact places of individual fragments and complexes. Packets of radio emission quasi-periodic fluctuations connected with the fragments impact places are found.
