Heat capacity measurements of VTiCr ternary alloys
Abstract
Heat capacities of V 0.80Ti 0.05Cr 0.15, V 0.90Ti 0.05Cr 0.05 and V 0.775Ti 0.15Cr 0.075 were measured in the temperature range from 480 to 900 K with a differential scanning calorimeter. No peak corresponding to the phase transition was observed in the heat capacity curve of each alloy. From Gibbs free energies of formation calculated from the measured heat capacities and the estimated standard enthalpies of formation, V 0.80Ti 0.05Cr 0.15 was determined to be the most stable among these alloys.
