The influence of electron screening on electron capture rate in stellar interior.
Abstract
The influence of electron screening on the electron capture rate in stellar environment is investigated. The effects of the screening on electron captures by 33S, 30P and 57Fe are discussed. It is shown that the screening diminishes the capture rate evidently in lower temperatures and higher densities. The screening effects may significantly influence the theory of stellar late stage evolution and supernova bursts.
