Measurement of the R_LT and R_LT^' structure functions in the quasi-elastic ^2H(e,e'p) reaction as a function of missing momentum.
Abstract
A set of three out--of--plane magnetic spectrometers (OOPS) has recently been commissioned at the Bates Linear Accelerator. We have studied the ^2H(e,e'p) reaction using two OOPS modules to detect protons in coincidence with an electron spectrometer in quasielastic kinematics at Q^2=0.22 (GeV/c)^2. The experiment was performed with a 40% polarized, 800 MeV electron beam. The OOPS modules were positioned at φ_pq=(45,135)^circ for three different values of θ_pq. This allowed the simultaneous measurement of the longitudinal--transverse responses R_LT and R_LT', at three central missing momenta: 150, 200, and 260 (MeV/c). Experimental results will be presented and discussed.
