Sparse Analog Readout Monolithic Pixel Detector
Abstract
A new monolithic pixel detector has been fabricated. It implements row and column discriminators which select only those cells with collected charge above a minimum amount. The analog signal is readout from each of these struck cells. The performance of the device has been quantified using gamma rays. The cell pitch is 65 microns by 67 microns. It is expected to have a high efficiency for minimum-ionizing particles. The signal for a minimum-ionizing normally-incident, particle is 50 times the single channel root-mean- square noise. University of Hawaii's Pixel Page
