Conductance fluctuations in a double-barrier resonant-tunneling structure with three-dimensional electrodes
Abstract
Magnetotransport study of double-barrier resonant-tunneling structures demonstrates aperiodic conductance fluctuations as a function of magnetic field at vanishing bias and at low temperatures for field configurations perpendicular as well as parallel to the tunnelling current. We interpret these fluctuations as the effects of diffusive electronic motion within the emitter and collector contacts rather than Zeeman splitting of the impurity states in the well.
