Asteroid spin, pole and shape determinations
Abstract
Results for rotational and shape parameters have been obtained for 50 asteroids with the method described in De Angelis ( Planet. Space Sci.41, 285-290, 1993). With this technique both the lightcurve epochs and amplitudes are considered, and the rotational and shape parameters are obtained with a simultaneous least square fit on both the epochs and the amplitudes data. Many new or improved solutions are presented in this paper. Moreover, for many objects the results have been compared with previous results from other authors who have used different determination techniques, and generally a good agreement has been found. A detailed statistical study on the results and a comparison with the methods and the results proposed by other authors have been performed, and the reliability of the method used for the determinations has been demonstrated.
