Phase-space distribution of hadrons at freeze-out
Abstract
The correlations between momentum and space distributions of the final state hadrons are analyzed within the microscopic quark-gluon string model (QGSM) for the light (S+S) and heavy (Au+Au) colliding systems at plab = 11.6 A GeV/ c. It is demonstrated that the particles with large transverse momenta, pT, are predominantly produced at the early stages of the reactions. They are emitted from a spatial domain with small longitudinal and large transverse dimensions. The low pT-component is populated mainly by the decay of resonances. This explains naturally the increasing source sizes with decreasing pT, as observed in HBT interferometry.
