LHC silicon strip detector read-out

This paper is based, in part, on an internal review conducted by the Silicon Tracker Group in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Its purpose is to examine the current status of on-detector read-out electronics appropriate to the LHC environment, and in particular to expose any new development that might be required for use with the high level one trigger rate requirements in the LHC-B beauty experiment planned for the LHC.
