Measurements of distance to Nova Cassiopeiae 1993.
Abstract
The distance to Nova Cassiopeiae 1993 is determined to be 4.2 kpc by interstellar absorption lines, and to be 5.5 kpc by adopting the absolute magnitude at maximum of classical novae. The least distance is 2.4 kpc when one considers interstellar extinction. In this paper these methods are discussed to determine the distance to this nova.
