A special concept in experimental radiation physics education
Abstract
Education in radiation physics must be supported by a program of laboratory demonstrations and experiments. Such a program requires basic and some rather advanced experiments in radiation science which can be used in nuclear and radiation courses in physics, chemistry, nuclear technology, geology, health physics and biology. The choice of which experiments should be used for a given discipline depends on the course syllabus, and on the experimental facilities that are available in the laboratory, e.g. sources of radioactivity, detectors and nucleonics, materials, radiation protection systems and dosimetry. This work presents a special concept of the new trend of the experimental radiation physics teaching in Al-Azhar university.
