Amplitude and frequency stabilization of a CW Nd:YAG ring laser
Abstract
We have developed a single-frequency cw Nd:YAG ring laser for the generation of squeezed light. Both the amplitude and frequency of the laser are stabilized. An acousto-optic modulator removes the intensity fluctuation with the first-order diffracted beam for the amplitude stabilization. The laser frequency is locked to a resonant reference cavity by using the dithering technique. Amplitude stability better than 0.1% and frequency stability of 160 kHz rms are obtained with output power over 2 W at 1.064 micron.
