Stresses in superconducting solenoid winding during its quench
Abstract
The reliable operation of superconducting magnets with high current density depends on the mechanical properties of their winding. During magnet quench redistributions of mechanical stresses occur, especially in sectioned windings. In the present work a computer stresses analysis of a solenoid with subdivided winding and external shunts was done.
