Semi-active vibration suppression of large space structures with a variable axial stiffness member
Abstract
A new semi-active control method for vibration suppression of large space structures is proposed. This method uses an active member which is able to vary its axial stiffness, and takes advantage of modal coordinate transformation due to its axial stiffness variation. Numerical simulations are performed on two control models to verify the effectiveness of the method.
