Mars subsurface sounding with a ground penetrating radar
Abstract
The general principles of Ground Penetrating Radars (GPR) applied to the Mars subsurface are presented. The case of the Mars 96 mission balloon GPR is studied. Work on the electromagnetic modeling of the Mars subsurface for GPR is shown. Accommodation guidelines for operating a GPR on a Planetary Automatic Vehicle are presented.
