A high-sensitivity fast photodetector, Kvazar-370, for large-scale experiments in the physics of cosmic rays
Abstract
A newly developed mushroom-shaped photodetector with a 370-mm diameter photocathode is described. The scatter of the time of flight of photoelectrons for the single-photoelectron point exposure of the photocathode is 1.8 ns. The difference of the times of flight of photoelectrons generated at different points of the photocathode is less than 1 ns. The resolution of a single-photoelectron peak is 70 percent.
