Current status and future prospects of the application of oscillator modules in active phased-array antennas (Review)
Abstract
The paper examines the design and fabrication of oscillator modules based on microwave-range microstrip and dielectric structures and their application in active phased-array antennas. Particular attention is given to the development of hybrid-integrated and monolithic devices. It is shown that the creation of monolithic modules not only improves their compatibility with highly efficient mass-production techniques, but also enhances the electrical and design parameters of the devices. It is suggested that the improvement of the characteristics of active phased-array modules will evolve toward seize and weight reduction, and the enhancement of output power, efficiency, and reliability.
