Fast optimization of apogee maneuvers on geostationary transfer orbit
Abstract
A new technique of optimization of apogee maneuvers enabling quicker computations while taking into account operational constraints is presented. The main features of the platform include spin stabilization during the transfer phase and a low thrust bipropellant apogee motor, permitting the utilization of multiple burn strategies to achieve injection into GEO. Results are given for Ariane 4 and Delta 2 launches, while targeting a geostationary orbit.
