Guidance and control for lunar landing system
Abstract
Fundamental considerations on guidance and control problems are presented for the lunar landing system which will be developed in Japan in several years. The guidance and control system for the lunar landing system includes functions such as attitude and position control during descent, searching for optimum landing position, guidance to the landing position, and deceleration control for soft landing. Fundamental investigations concerning these functions are performed and preliminary design and configuration of control system are shown. Especially an application of H-infinity robust control theory is presented for the attitude and position control system of lunar lander.
