Active vibration control of flexible structures using the sentuator
Abstract
Undesired vibration motion of a flexible cantilever beam is controlled with a piezoelectric sensor and actuator. Appropriate sensor and actuator equations are derived and implemented in a finite element analysis to simulate a feedback active vibration control algorithm. Based on it, experiments are performed. Results show that the sentuator can effectively reduce the total mode with only one sentuator regardless of location.
