Experimental evaluation of normal mode force appropriation methods using a rectangular plate
Abstract
Force appropriation methods aim to provide an estimate for the force pattern required in order to excite a 'pure' normal mode on a vibration test using multiple exciters. In this paper, preliminary experimental results from various direct methods which operate on the measured Frequency Response Function matrix are presented. The test set-up consists of a rectangular perspex plate with close modes of vibration, using 24 accelerometers and 2 exciters.
