An engineering tool for solving multiaxial fatigue problems
Abstract
A lifting method based on a fatigue damage model is proposed which is based on the concept of effective stress. This uniaxial model which was successfully tested on a wide range of materials and loadings is extended to take into account proportional or nonproportional multiaxial loadings. The fatigue damage model is used in conjunction with Neuber's method to predict crack initiation under stress concentration. It is considered to be a true engineering tool which can effectively replace Miner's rule.
