Fiber Optic Gyros: 15th Anniversary Conference, Boston, MA, Sept. 4-6, 1991, Proceedings
Abstract
The present conference on the development status of fiber-optic gyros (FOGs) discusses FOG design and production in Japan, Europe, and the U.S., as well as FOG applications, passive ring-resonator gyros, signal processing for FOGs, FOG errors, novel FOG designs, and FOG component technologies. Attention is given to telescope pointing and tracking with FOGs, a single polarization fiber-optic resonator for gyro applications, a polarization rotating resonator FOG, an inertial-grade FOG employing integrated optics with beat detection, and an open-loop FOG with with wide dynamic range. Also discussed are AM noise reduction in FOG rotation sensors, a multimode fiber-optic 'gyrometer', broadband fiber sources for gyros, FOG coil winding cost reduction, and white-light interferometry for FOG component testing.
