Reflection of an explosion shock wave from the end wall of a shock tube
Abstract
Flow in a shock tube generated by an explosion shock wave is investigated using a set of computer programs based on the 'free shock' algorithm. The approach used here is more efficient than finite difference methods since only local parameter recalculation is carried out at each step and there is no discontinuity spreading. The results of numerical modeling and physical experiments are used to analyze the dynamics of wave processes in a shock tube, including the formation and reflection of explosion shock waves.
