Channeling of electromagnetic emission by dynamic plasma diffraction gratings
Abstract
The objective of the experimental study reported here was to investigate the possibility of channeling continuous microwave radiation in atmospheric air by a bunch of extended plasma formations produced by three equidistant parallel laser optical-breakdown channels. The efficient channeling of high-frequency continuous electromagnetic radiation by dynamic plasma diffraction gratings is demonstrated. The results also demonstrate the possibility of an alternative mode of electromagnetic radiation transport (bulk waveguide mode) in three-dimensional diffraction gratings.
