Implicit solution scheme to improve convergence rate in radiative transfer problems
Abstract
The cause of slow convergence to a solution in radiation transfer equations, occurring in cases when the equation is solved to obtain radiant heat fluxes in an enclosure, is identified. An implicit solution method is developed which greatly enhances the convergence rate and reduces the solution cost, and the solution procedure is demonstrated using the finite-volume method.
