Dependence of the ion fractionation coefficient in marine aerosols on the evaporation intensity from the sea surface
Abstract
Results of a theoretical analysis suggest that the difference between the chemical composition of marine aerosols and that of sea water may be due to irreversible processes of heat and mass transfer between the ocean and atmosphere. These processes lead to a change in the chemical composition of the microlayer of the sea surface from which the aerosols are formed.
