Backward stimulated Raman scattering of a Gaussian pumping pulse - Numerical experiment
Abstract
The dynamics of the backward SRS of a Gaussian pumping pulse is investigated within the framework of the plane-wave approximation and neglecting local nonstationarity. Three fundamental dynamic regimes are identified: quasi-static, modulation, and the backward SRS regime in an unbounded medium. Conditions for the establishment of these regimes are examined, along with their main characteristics.
