Dynamics of an orbital elastic rope coupling of two bodies
Abstract
The dynamic behavior in circular orbit of two bodies coupled by flexible elastic rope is investigated. Differential equations of relative motion are derived for cases of system unfolding and its motion on working positions. The influence of the elastic change of the rope length due to inertia and gravitational forces on the evolution of the system is analyzed. Also investigated is the effect of periodically changing thermal disturbances due to the system's crossing of the terminator line.
