Computer simulation of unsteady wall impinging gas jet
Abstract
The development and wall impinging process of an axis-sysmmetric unsteady helium jet was studied by using computer simulation. The position of the jet tip, with diffusion ignored, was visualized by the particle track method, based on which the penetration was defined. The method used here proves to be valid, for the calculation results coincide with experiment data in the literature. This method is helpful in the analysis of physical phenomenon in experiments and presents a useful tool for studying unsteady wall impinging jets.
