Accuracy of 3-D radiation boundary conditions for use with the vector Helmholtz equation
Abstract
Radiation boundary conditions (RBCs) developed for the vector Helmholtz equation in three dimensions is reviewed, including an alternate RBC that contains only even-order derivatives and therefore preserves the symmetry of the associated matrix operator. The accuracy of several radiation conditions is evaluated using outward-propagating spherical harmonics.
