Magnetic Properties of the Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors Zn1-xCoxSe and Zn1-xCoxS
Abstract
The magnetic specific heat, magnetization and low-field magnetic susceptibility of Co-based diluted magnetic semiconductors Zn1-xCoxSe and Zn1-xCoxS have been calculated by using a Hamiltonian which takes into account both the Heisenberg-type nearest-neighbor exchange interactions and spin-orbit interactions. A fair agreement between theory and experiment is obtained. No magnetization steps are predicted in the ranges of temperature and magnetic field considered here.
