The problem of measuring small circular dichroism and experimental confirmation of anionic superconductivity
Abstract
A computer simulation is used to reproduce the experiment of Lyons et al. (1990), in which weak circular dichroism was observed in high temperature superconductors. The possibility of a false result associated with linear dichroism is demonstrated and estimated quantitatively. The method of rotating the specimen or the light polarization plane during the measurement of circular dichroism in anisotropic objects is discussed.
