An error analysis and mesh adaptation method for shape design of structural components
Abstract
A finite error analysis and mesh adaptation technique that can be utilized for enhancing analysis accuracy in carrying out shape design of structural components is presented. The simple error estimator developed by Zienkiewicz is adopted for finite element error analysis. The mesh adaptation algorithm implemented in ANSYS is examined and the difficulties found are discussed.
