Experimental study of a turbulent Couette flow with pressure gradient - Comparison with a direct numerical simulation of the turbulence
Abstract
Using hot-wire anemometry, detailed measurements have been obtained in an air flow due to a pressure gradient between two plane parallel walls, one of which is moving. The Reynolds number based on the channel height and the mean velocity was about 5000. The results are compared with a direct numerical simulation.
