The large space chamber (13 m diameter) in Tukuba Space Center
Abstract
The large space chamber (13 m diameter) that is used for testing large spacecraft launched by H-2 rocket has begun to operate as part of the Spacecraft Integration and Test Facilities at the Tukuba Space Center. The usable volume of the chamber is 13 m diameter x l6 m length, and inner pressure can be 1 x 10 exp -7 torr within 16 hours. The operating cost is reduced by the use of a nitrogen reliquefying equipment to save the evaporated nitrogen gas. The capability of this chamber may be ranked highest class in Japan.
