A simplified visual procedure for determining possible lunar eclipsing of a satellite
Abstract
A simplified procedure has been developed which can be used to determine visually whether a circular synchronous equatorial orbit passes through the lunar shadow. The procedure can be programmed and extended to become a simple tool to determine whether any orbit passes through the lunar shadow. Also, a complete range of orbit right ascension and times of eclipsing can also be determined. These values can be compared with those of the satellite further to verify the possibility of a violation of an eclipsing constraint.
