An automated method for monitoring the shape and position of the surface of parts of complex configurations
Abstract
A computerized laser-based system for the automatic monitoring of the shape and position of surfaces in surface machining operations is described. The system uses a He-Ne laser interferometer and a comparator mounted on aerostatic supports. The measurement procedure is described, and the accuracy of the measurements is estimated.
