An analytical study of the bulk-abrasive machining of screw-shaped parts
Abstract
An analytical description is presented for the process of the bulk-abrasive finish machining of screw-shaped parts whereby a rotating part is brought into contact with a bulk abrasive that is centrifugally densified in a rotating container. The analytical description makes it possible to determine the effect of generalized process factors on the parameters of the surface layer of the workpiece irrespective of the specific characteristics of the experimental equipment. The optimal process variables determined for specific process conditions and type of equipment can thus be recalculated for a different set of conditions.
