Magnetohydrodynamic cosmologies
Abstract
We analyze a class of cosmological models in the magnetohydrodynamic regime extending and completing the results of a previous paper. The material content of the model is a perfect fluid plus an electromagnetic field. The fluid is neutral, on the average, but admits an electrical current which satisfies Ohm's law. All models fulfill the physical requirements of near equilibrium thermodynamics and can be favorably used as a more realistic description of the interior of a collapsing star in a magnetohydrodynamic regime with or without a magnetic field.
