Numerical simulation of flows inside internal cavities of turbine rotor blades
Abstract
In order to study the flow and heat transfer in rotating and ribbed cavities, numerical simulations have been made with a Navier-Stokes code. An experimental test rig has been concepted at ONERA in order to study the influence of rotation on internal heat transfer; another set-up is being defined to study the influence of ribs on local convective heat transfer. Experimental and theoretical results are presented and discussed.
